1966 Plymouth Belvedere (White)
My son and I bought this car in 2004, from a small classic car dealership
in Salt Lake City. He specializes in MOPAR vehicle. The exterior
emblems call it a "Belvedere II." However, the emblem on the glove box
identifies it as a "Satellite." The body was pretty straight; the
interior was well worn. It was going to be a father/son project, but
that hasn’t worked too well since we live 950 miles apart.
This was a classic Plymouth station wagon of the mid 60’s which is what
caught our eyes. The vehicle has been completely stripped to the frame and
pellet blasted to bare metal. Over my objections, my son is determined
to replace the original 383 engine with a 440. WOW! Sadly, the project
has taken a back seat to my son’s other project ---- restoration of a 1974
Plymouth Trail Duster. That project is close to the finish line.
Hopefully, his attention will directed back to the Plymouth wagon..
Our long term plan is to get it put back together. Eventually the
original white paint will be replaced by that spectacular fire engine red
that will match the red 1967 Plymouth Satellite I own
